UA grp 3 transfer in Shanghai United Airlines Group 3 only: When you arrive at Shanghai Pudong Airport, you will pass through immigration/customs into China. You will then need to collect all of your luggage at the carousels. From there, you will need to transfer/re-check your luggage at the Transfer Area that is located near the baggage carousels. Here, you will present your China Eastern Airlines e-ticket. You will receive your e-ticket for the Shanghai-Beijing flight and your luggage will be checked. From there, you will move to the Arrivals area and be met by local guides who will then assist everyone to the domestic departure area. The guides will most likely be holding signs with the groups’ name on it. There is a very good animation of how the process works.
