Logan Percussion Concludes Successful 2007 Season PDF Print E-mail
Wednesday, 04 April 2007
The Logan Percussion Ensemble’s best performance of their program, “The Spider’s Lair” was awarded 88.5 at the CCGC Championships last April 1, held at Independence High School in San Jose. Although uncontested in their Scholastic World division, this competition was important for the group because their goal was to surpass all their previous scores and have a successful season. And they made it!

This performance was preceded by an inspired show that the group did during “A Night of Drums, Guards & Dance” held at the Logan Pavilion on Friday, March 30. The local crowd was truly impressed and gave the group a rousing ovation at the end of their show. This exhibition to the local fans was important to the group, in light of their disappointed third-place finish (score: 80.8) at the WGI Regional, which was also held at Logan.

After the WGI Regional, the group rebounded and improved their score at the Evergreen Valley show on March 24. Their performance at this competition earned them a score of 86.9 and re-energized them.

To commemorate the end of their season, the Percussion Boosters treated our student musicians to a luncheon right after their performance at the CCGC Championships. They also received some commemorative items to remind them of a great season!

The Percussion Boosters would like to thank the students for their hard work, enthusiasm and good behavior! To the Band Directors and Percussion staff, led by Mr. Barrera and Mr. Oliver for their dedication and patience. To all the booster parents who helped in one way or another in making this a memorable year (pit-ting, chaperoning, cooking, picture-taking, video-taking, loading, driving, fundraising, etc). Till next season…
