Logan Percussion Ensemble Begins Season by Ellen Rebosura The James Logan Percussion Ensemble began their season at the CCGC Percussion Competition last Saturday, February 24, 2007. The event was held at Monta Vista High School in Cupertino. A total of fifteen percussion units participated in this competition. Logan’s Reputation Precedes Them While the ensemble was setting up their mat and musical instruments, the audience was impatiently waiting and talking. However, when the announcement was made that the Logan High School is the unit preparing to perform, the audience suddenly paid attention and eagerly awaited the start of the program. This is quite remarkable and an attestation that people are aware of the high quality of performance the Logan students are known for, whether they are a band or color guard unit. The 25-member Logan Percussion Ensemble performed their program “The Spider's Lair” boldly and confidently. The audience was impressed as the various soloists performed their parts with outstanding musicianship and showmanship! A very satisfied crowd cheered the group at the end of the performance. For their first competition, the Logan Percussion Ensemble received a very respectable score of 77.0. A great start to their season! Next stop is the WGI Las Vegas Regional. And don’t worry, what will happen in Las Vegas, will not stay there, I’ll definitely let you know the results! Visit the Gallery for Monte Vista Show's Pictures. |
