The James Logan Bands and Color Guards is very honored to be selected as part of the American Delegation to perform at Beijing 2008 Olympic events. The trip will take place on July 29 - August 12, 2008. The Band and Guard students will join other performers and delegations from other States and from other Countries as part of an Orchestra group that will consist of 2008 total members, combined. The combined Orchestra will be performing in the city of Beijing, Shanghai and Tian Jin. There is a potential opportunity to also perform at the main Opening Ceremony event. The students will also have the opportunity to visit various sight seeing spots such as The Great Wall of China, The Forbidden City, etc. You can download and read the proposed itinerary: Olympic_Orchestra_Prospectus.pdf This project/activity is managed and produced by 'World Projects International Music Productions'. In the near future, for those who participate, there will be a special information and communication sections on this web site that you can view to monitor for progress and status. James Logan Bands and Color Guards students who is currently in 8th thru 11th grades will have the opportunity to participate. Parents, siblings, other family members and relatives also have the option to tag along. The 'Shadow Trip' for non-students gives you the opportunity to shadow your students, stay at the same 'Orchestra Village', go on the same sight seeing trips and watch their performances. IMPORTANT NOTES FOR THOSE WHO ARE PLANNING TO GO! First of all, download, read, fill and return contract forms (Financial Agreement, Beijing 2008 Olympic Orchestra). One form for the student and another for non-students (family members). The contract form show the total trip cost, schedule of payments, cancellation policy, etc. PLEASE ATTACH A COMPLETED AND SIGNED CONTRACT TO YOUR INITIAL DEPOSIT. NO PAYMENTS WILL BE ACCEPTED WITHOUT THE APPROPRIATE CONTRACT. Here are the forms:
