2/21 - updated itinerary: Wind Symphony trip and performance at CASMEC 2020, Fresno, CA

The James Logan High School Wind Symphony has been invited to perform at the California All-State Music Education Conference (CASMEC) held in Fresno, CA at the Fresno Convention Center this coming February 20-22, 2020.

Their performance will be at 3:00PM, Friday, February 21, 2020. They will be performing seven compositions.

Admission is FREE

Location:
Fresno Convention Center, Expo III
Fresno, CA

Details on performances from other schools during the three day event at the CASMEC site

The itinerary:

Thursday, February 20:
11:30 AM Meet in band room to load equipment.
12:00 PM Load buses and depart for Fresno. Bring your own lunch to eat on the bus. For any on the free/recuded lunch program at school, lunch will be provided. Pick up lunch from Dr. Wilke before boarding.
4:00 PM Arrive in downtown Fresno
5:00 PM Attend Derek Brown concert at Saroyan Theater
6:45 PM Concert end, load bus and go to dinner 7:30 PM Arrive at Fashion Fair Mall to eat dinner at the food court. Bring money to purchase dinner at the mall.
9:00 PM Load bus and depart for hotel
9:30 PM Check into hotel
10:30 PM Chaperones check that students are in assigned rooms
11:00 PM Lights Out

Friday, February 21:
9:00 AM Wake up and eat breakfast at hotel.
11:00 AM Check out of the hotel and load buses. (We will leave in formal attire)
11:30 AM Depart hotel for downtown Fresno.
12:00 PM Arrive at downtown convention center and go to the exhibit hall.
1:00 PM Eat lunch provided by band boosters in Expo II.
2:00 PM Sound check for concert in Expo III
3:00 PM Concert for the California All-State Music Education Conference
4:00 PM Concert Ends. We will immediately load equipment and board the bus.
​5:00 PM Depart Fresno. We will stop at an exit with a few fast food options for dinner.
9:30 PM Arrive back at JLHS, unload equipment, and dismissal.

Invite your family and friends for delicious tacos and burritos at Chipotle Mexican Grill on Wednesday, 2/19/2020. The band and color guard will receive 33% of the sales and you'll feel real good eating tasty food and helping a great cause!  The fundraiser runs from 4pm to 8pm.  Print out the flyer above, show it from your phone or simply mention the James Logan Band and Color Guard for your purchase to be counted towards the fundraiser.

2/29, 3/1 Volunteer at Winter Guard International Regionals at James Logan HS

​Hello Booster Families!

I am excited to share that we will be hosting the Winter Guard International Regionals Competition here at James Logan High School. This 2 day event starting on February 29 will have a packed day of performances leading into a shorter schedule on March 1.

  • Performances are from 10am to 7:30pm on Saturday and 10am to 3:30pm on Sunday
  • Volunteer shifts are shorter ranging from 3 to 4 hours for most positions
  • Food - We are only supporting breakfast and lunch (per WGI). Darius Ng (Food Lead) will create a menu so donations will show specific needs with an alternate option to donate money for shopping. I will add the items to SignUp as soon as possible as Darius is still finishing the menu.
  • FloMarching will be attending which means it will be streamed -- we need tight operations for this event.

Call To Action:
We need your help with the 2 days. We know that it's really hard to commit to long hours which is why you will notice short shifts with 30 minute overlap. This overlap will be critical in giving volunteers a few minutes to get to their station and do some quick knowledge exchange. If your day permits, you are welcome to sign up for multiple shifts for different roles.

We're raising money for the James Logan Band and Color Guard program, and we need your help! Funds raised will go towards equipment, competition fees, transportation, etc.

Catalog order forms must be turned in by February 21, 2020 and expect delivery in early March.   Online orders can be made at any time and delivery process starts as soon as order is placed.

You can take two actions to help spread the word:
  1. Share this fundraiser via email and social media to friends and family.  Go to our online store, click the rocket, and enter 10 emails of friends and family. Be sure to also post the link to Facebook and Twitter!
  2. Share this fundraiser via text messaging.  Go to our online store on your phone and tap Share this Fundraiser, then Send a Text. Add your friends and family and ask them to support our fundraiser!

When you’re ready to shop, you have three ways:
